The Desk · mission
Research with
receipts.
We research a business, form a hypothesis about the trade, seal it with a date, and test it publicly.
The public record remains deliberately narrow: it publishes only what the verified source provides and does not manufacture missing calls, checkpoints, grades, or article fields. The portfolio now uses a live brokerage account; published performance remains the historical paper record until broker-fill verification is complete.
Read the public record →01What we are
We run a portfolio and publish its record. The portfolio is managed through three portfolio strategies: a rules-based EMA strategy, an autonomous strategy that harvests volatility in good, high-beta names, and a long-term conviction strategy that holds positions for stated horizons. The long-term conviction strategy is where our longer-term research becomes a tracked position.
02What we publish
Only what the portfolio did or sealed. Each morning, what we're watching into the open. Each close, the trades we made across the three portfolio strategies and the technical reasons why, in plain words. Each day, one name from the long-term research watch list — a hypothesis with a price, a horizon, and what would prove it wrong. A deep dive whenever the portfolio adds a long-term position. During earnings season, one post a day updating every hypothesis that reported. Library Guides explain investing mechanics without making a call, capped at one a week and two a month unless an owner overrides a named piece. Topic Deep Dives map one industry, macroeconomic theme, interest-rate question, market mechanism, or political or geopolitical development into a sealed posture one to two times a month. On Sunday, the week ahead: the weekend's news, where market risk and sentiment sit, the calendar, and what it means for our names.
03How we work
We research, form a hypothesis on the business and the trade, seal it with a date, and test it in public. The engine records every decision at the moment it's made — the trigger, the numbers, the vote, the fill — and the writing is drawn from that record, never reconstructed. One pipe structures the data; one writer writes; one gate checks. A reviewer raises only what's critical. When the engine can't produce a number, we say so instead of printing one. The broker's statement is the only truth for results.
04What makes it worth paying for
The receipts. Every call has a date, a level, and a checkpoint; every trade has its reason on file; every hypothesis is scored when its date arrives, in public, whether it was right or not. Anyone can copy the format. No one can copy the record.
05Where it goes
Over time, the record shows what worked, in which conditions, and why. The universe grows as research finds names that fit the edge: company quality, positioning, beta as fuel. The portfolio now uses a live brokerage account; published performance remains the historical paper record until broker-fill verification is complete.
